THE FREEDOM TO EXPLORE
A new level of convenience for adventurous touring.
The Outwell Coombs 135-X offers a sophisticated alternative to conventional folding roof tents, combining a practical hard-shell construction with the comfort and freedom of vehicle-based camping.
For travellers who enjoy discovering new destinations, moving between campsites and making spontaneous overnight stops, the Coombs 135-X provides an attractive combination of practicality and comfort.
Whether you're exploring the rugged Scottish Highlands, discovering the Northumberland coastline or travelling further afield, the Coombs offers an appealing way to enjoy the journey.
INTELLIGENT HARD-SHELL ENGINEERING
Streamlined for travel. Ready for adventure.
One of the defining characteristics of the Coombs 135-X is its distinctive hard-shell design.
When closed, the tent presents a streamlined travelling profile. At your destination, its convenient opening arrangement allows you to prepare your elevated sleeping accommodation without the more extensive unfolding process associated with some soft-shell roof tents.
This makes the Coombs particularly appealing to touring enthusiasts who regularly move between different destinations.
COMFORT ABOVE THE GROUND
Your own comfortable retreat, wherever you explore.
A great camping experience is about more than reaching your destination. It's about enjoying every moment of the journey, including a comfortable night's sleep.
The Coombs 135-X provides dedicated sleeping accommodation for two, with a carefully considered interior designed around the practical requirements of rooftop camping.
Ventilation and weather protection features help create a welcoming sleeping environment, while the elevated position adds to the distinctive experience of vehicle-based camping.

CHOOSING YOUR ROOF TENT
Hard-shell or folding roof tent?
Outwell offers different approaches to rooftop camping, allowing you to choose the design best suited to your travelling style.
The Bamfield 140 and Bamfield 160 feature folding designs, providing comfortable sleeping accommodation for two and up to three people respectively.
The Coombs 135-X offers a hard-shell alternative with a streamlined travelling profile and convenient opening arrangement.
All three Outwell roof tents are in stock and on display at United British Caravans, so you can compare the different designs during your visit.
Will the Coombs 135-X fit your vehicle?
Before purchasing any rooftop tent, it's essential to confirm that your vehicle and roof mounting system are suitable.
Check the vehicle manufacturer's permitted dynamic roof load, the suitability and capacity of your roof bars or roof rack, and the combined weight of the roof tent and mounting equipment.
Not all vehicles or roof mounting systems are suitable for roof tents. The dynamic roof load applies while driving and differs from the stationary loading capacity.
Always confirm compatibility with your vehicle and roof-bar manufacturers before purchasing or fitting.
